Mussolini managed to occupy territories in Albania, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, and small territories in Egypt. Allies- The United States, Russia and The United Kingdom
The United States of America
The United States of America, under President FDR's leadership, remained neutral during the beginning of the war. America was still recovering from an economic downfall during the early 20th century, that is why the US didn't join the war as soon as the Axis powers threatened to take over foreign countries. America was forced to join the war after the Japanese Empire attacked an American Naval base, stationed in Pearl Harbor. America declared war on the Axis powers after the bombing of pear Harbor. President FDR's first official military order in WWII was to send troops to northern Africa to take back Axis controlled territories. Among other battles, America's greatest victory was on June 6th, 1944, the day when 160,000 allied troops invaded Normandy and defeated the Nazi Panzer armies.

The United Kingdom
The United Kingdom was an Allied power whom declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939. The UK also declared war on the Japanese Empire in 1941. Britain had been building up its military even before 1939, however they were still weak in comparison to the military force of Nazi Germany. The only way the United Kingdom overpowered Nazi Germany was with its naval fleet, which was said to be the largest in the world. The first deployment of British troops was on October 11, 1939 in France, this was in preparation of Nazi troops moving westward after their victories in Poland. The United Kingdom stood by the Allies throughout World War II.
